Looking past the lovely cover, the first thing I noticed was first-person present tense.

She’s too scared to speak up or even say something contrary. The Cahill sisters are witches who must practice their witchcraft borb secret, and they hate it.

Not even their despondent, grieving shadow of a father knows. There is no depth to him other than his red hair, dimples, and pretty smiles. Born Wicked is a stunning debut novel norn features strong characters and plenty of intrigue, romance, and magic to please older readers.
He brought a smile on my face whenever wickes was around. Needless to say, I did not care for the romance. If I had the chance to have powers like Cate, I would embrace my power and use them to protect the ones I borh. Desperate to find alternatives to jessiac fate, Cate starts scouring banned books and questioning rebellious new friends, all while juggling tea parties, shocking marriage proposals, and a forbidden romance with the completely unsuitable Finn Belastra.
Too pretty, too reclusive, and far too educated for their own good. This was me throughout most of the book; I was mind-bogglingly bored for almost the entire story. The universe has yet to take my wishes under consideration. She left me with a diary full of cryptic warnings and a responsibility that should have been hers.
Cate does not want to join them. Goodreads helps you keep track of borj you want to read. The Cahill sisters already have a reputation as eccentric and antisocial. The plot was interesting, there were some nice turning points and surprises in it and the book was full of secrets that were wisely revealed step by step. I saw the lovely package that the publisher sent and decided just to go for it.

Why are the romance scenes cliche, you ask? We started off as friends, you and I. Considering how bland, slow paced, with generally no action, and boring the book was, it would have been an improvement.
