Whereas ‘The Historian’ was well-developed, well-researched and unpredictable, ‘Bloodline’ was only half-developed, not very well researched and highly predictable. My preconceptions were often turned completely upside down. This bloodlne definitely it! Not so much predictable if at all. I wish the story had stayed in England and gone in an original direction–the author had done a good job of laying the foundation for a fresh follow-up to the classic story without the need to actively re-visit it.

The story itself progresses in nearly the same way Dracula does and at that point I was bored with it all.
You want a real vampire story? John does this because he thinks Quincey killed his mother, while Mary was the culprit. John Sewardin the old sanitorium owned by Dr. I felt like some of the details could have been fleshed out more, with perhaps some subtle foreshadowing, but perhaps my missing scenes would have tied it toget I don’t typically love journal-style storytelling, but the writing flow drew me in enough to finish it.
