Want to Read Currently Reading Read. Some of their stuff is powerful, but the army has enough weaknesses to keep you on your toes. And it just doesn’t fit the slow-moving, implacable and inevitable existential threat that the Necrons were pitched to convey. The Annihilation Barge is one of the best units in the codex. Posts containing novel excerpts must be supported by at least a paragraph describing why this moment is important, be it a grand revelation in the lore or a critical turning point in a character design.
But in the wider context, I actually prefer the newer lore. Good for both repairing your vehicles and spawning more Scarabs. Your best bet will be a generic Overlord. Now the hour of awakening has come at last.

Yup, newcrons are my second favorite faction, especially for their dichotomy. But you have so many absurdly deadly melee units in most other sections that this may not even matter. If you absolutely have to take it, take two. Thaszar’s vessels have already begun to prowl both the webway and realspace, and the galaxy will surely come to rue the day he reawakened. Spyders are decent in close combat, but they’re best served in a support capacity. The Old Ones were beaten by the C’Tan without the Chaos gods being remotely involved, the Necrons easily killed them despite being weaker than the C’Tan, and the Necron Empire lasted much longer than the Eldar one.
In neccron darkness of the ancient past, the Necrons ruled the galaxy. If you can’t get to the point in a few paragraphs, it might not be worth posting. Regardless, I really enjoy Newcron and the nuance that it allows them, especially that which sets them apart from, in specific, the Tyranid and the other all-consuming tropes in 40k.

For aeons they slumbered in their stasis-crypts, waiting for the galaxy to recover from the terrible war that almost tore it asunder. And let’s not forget that the Necron models look really nice, you won’t get hateful glares from most players like those who use some of Matt T5h other armies, you have enough unit variety to pull off pretty much any style of play you want, your army is lacking in any deadweight units unlike certain other armiespretty much every unit can find a use in most any army edihion without having to sink a ludicrous amount of points into them.
